Box Tops’ Alex Chilton Dead at 59
Alex Chilton one of the famous pop star musician and the man who was behind the billboard chart topper “The Letter” died on Wednesday, in his home town New Orleans due to a severe heart attack reports said. Jody Stephens one of the team mates of the Big Star band said that Singer- guitarist Alex who was at his 16 made initiatives and worked in order to bring The Box Top to the top spot of the charts.
The Chilton and his teams came up with their The Box Tops disbanded in 1970, which attained a huge popularity all over the world and however they were supposed to performance a show at SXAW on Saturday which is likely to be cancelled due to his death. Chilton’s sudden demise shocked the band team and his fans.
The Commercial Appeal of Memphis said that the Chilton was not feeling much well for past couple of days before he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit on Wednesday. Chilton never duplicated with Big Star the commercial success he achieved with The Box Tops but he has always been considered among the most talented musicians in the industry. Chilton was survived by his wife Laura and a son Timothy.
